Building trust in urban innovation with Sidewalk Labs Toronto

Sidewalk Labs - Alphabet’s smart city subsidiary, was engaged in a public and government consultation, to reimagine urban life with a smart neighbourhood in downtown Toronto. A series of challenging campaigns sought to change Torontonians minds about a controversial ‘smart city’ development opportunity. The work ultimately told the story of how urban innovation could improve the city, and build trust in Google’s parent company, when it came to privacy, tech, and data in the public sphere.

As part of the creative team working on the project, I developed and produced creative concepts for social and digital campaigns. Using illustration and branding provided by Sidewalk Labs - I led the direction of animated and static social assets, designed storyboards and directed the production by motion designers who produced final videos.
