SOTOS LLP

A website design and brand update for a boutique business law firm.

SOTOS LLP wanted a new website design to reflect their transition from a franchise-focused law firm to one with broader business specialization. The challenge was to create a unique website that not only illustrated their evolving identity but also showcased their lawyers, moving away from typical stock image-heavy designs. In the discovery phase of this project, my team initiated a comprehensive process that included interviewing board members, conducting a brand assessment, and a competitive audit. This groundwork made it clear that the existing brand wasn’t working for the firm and set the stage for a new direction in addition to the website design.

I was challenged to come up with a ‘big idea’ and developed three distinct visual and conceptual brand directions, encompassing website design elements like typography, graphic styles, and color palettes, each of which would inform the brand’s visual identity. The website features animated icons, a minimal clean look that creates a twist on the traditional while modernizing the brand. Personnel were featured prominently on the home page, and a colour-coded tab system makes it simple for clients to find the services they are looking for.
